Bachmann Model Trains - A Popular Choice
by Thadean May
One of the most recognizable names in the model trains business is Bachmann Model Trains. Established in 1966, they are probably best known for their high quality trains and tracks for uncommon train scales. By having these additional sizes, as well as with the standard scales this makes them the industry leader.
Any hobby shop you walk into, if you bring up the name Bachmann you will get a respectful look from whoever is running the shop. The most common brand is beloved by the most seasoned train hobbyist as well as the novice. Imagine the immediate bond you can make discussing these great trains with someone you knew, and all because you are aware of a great brand name.
There is another reason to make Bachmann model trains some of the best on the market. They are available in the HO30 scale, which is their most popular size. It is also the ideal size for anyone into the model hobby.
Why is this probably the best size for all involved, and the most beloved? The train is capable of running on a HO scale track, and is compatible with HO products, but at a fraction of the size, and it tends to be considerably more durable. It also makes economical sense as well. Imagine you purchase everything for your HO30 model, and do decide you want to continue to grow, the HO30 model is 100% compatible with HO items. Bachmann model trains were designed with longevity in mind, so it is the perfect match.
As times change, so has Bachmann. Recently, they have attacked the high end market with high level and quality detailed trains. Some of which are far superior to others on the market. They provide the realism of their large sized counter parts. On top of this, they have expanded more depth into the beloved O and HO sizes. They have completely created their own realm of possibilities in the train industry making them the respected front runner they have desired to be for so long.
Similarly, Bachmann model trains also have become widely respected in the N Scale market as well. This scale is considered one of the finest in the model train community, and is typically used by expert model train hobbyists. It not only offers remarkable size, but quality that is higher in comparison to other models.
It should be noted that all three scales do have benefits and experimentation possibilities. However, those who are considering introducing their children to the world of model trains should consider the O Scale. They are larger, and easier to design with. Plus the smaller sizes, such as scale N tend to be easily breakable.
Catering to all walks of the train model community, Bachmann model trains are available for everyone interested in trains. No matter if you are a new hobbyist, or a seasoned veteran, chances are you have heard of and gained a love and respect for their product. Enjoy them with your friends and family.
